Longwork stores your training, nutrition and body-weight records on your device. You do not need an account. Optional food lookup, Health Connect imports and backups use information as described below.

Information kept on your device

Longwork keeps the information you use to plan, record and review your activity, including:

  • training programmes, schedules and reminder preferences;
  • active and completed workouts, exercises, sets, loads, repetitions, effort, rest and notes;
  • cardio activities, duration, distance, effort, notes, weekly goals and plans;
  • food entries, portions, calorie and nutrient values, targets, saved meals, recipes, custom foods and favourites;
  • manual body-weight measurements and any weight records you choose to import from Health Connect;
  • nutrition goal and review settings, logging exceptions and decisions about proposed target changes;
  • exercise aliases, custom exercises and records of workout suggestions you used, changed or dismissed; and
  • app preferences, backup settings and connection status.

This includes health and fitness information. Longwork uses it to show your history, calculate trends and estimates, and support the features you choose. It is not a medical diagnosis or treatment service.

Information sent to Wiskow Tech

Longwork does not send your training, nutrition or body-weight record to Wiskow Tech or a Longwork backend. The app has no account, advertising SDK or product-analytics SDK. Wiskow Tech does not sell your information or use it for advertising.

If you email support, we receive the message and any files you attach. Include only the information you want to share.

Food lookup and barcode scanning

Typing in food search checks the local catalogue without sending a request. When you submit a text search, Longwork also sends the search text to Open Food Facts. A submitted or scanned barcode first checks local data; Longwork sends it to Open Food Facts if no local match is available.

These requests include the search or barcode and fixed catalogue filters and response fields. A standard request header identifies Longwork and its version. They do not include your diary entries, portions, targets, saved meals, body weight, workouts, history or a device identifier. Like other internet services, Open Food Facts receives network information such as your IP address when you connect.

Longwork saves online products you select in a local cache so you can find them again offline. Logged foods keep their recorded nutrient values when catalogue data changes. Open Food Facts handles requests under its privacy policy.

If you choose barcode scanning, Longwork asks for camera permission. The scanner reads the barcode on your device; Longwork does not send camera images to Open Food Facts. You can enter a barcode yourself and manage camera permission in Android settings.

Optional Health Connect weight import

On supported Android devices, you can give Longwork permission to read Weight records from Health Connect. Longwork requests only weight read access. It does not write records to Health Connect or request background or full-history access.

Connecting imports weight from the previous 30 days. While connected, Longwork refreshes this range when you open the app or return to it. You can also refresh manually. Processing stays on your device. Imported records include the measurement, date and source information needed to keep the local copies up to date.

Imported weight appears in your weight history and can inform optional nutrition target reviews. Longwork changes a target only when you accept the change.

You can disconnect in Longwork and choose whether to keep or delete imported copies. Disconnecting stops future imports; it does not revoke the Android permission. You can revoke access in Health Connect settings. Deleting imported copies in Longwork does not delete the original Health Connect records.

Imports, exports and document access

When you import a programme or restore a backup, you choose a file for Longwork to read. Longwork does not browse unrelated documents.

Manual backups and CSV exports start when you request them. The system sharing interface lets you choose their destination. Full backups can contain training, nutrition and body-weight information, including imported weight records. A service you select receives the file under its own privacy terms.

Restoring a backup does not reconnect Health Connect. You must choose to connect it again on that device.

Optional automatic backups

On Android, you can select a folder for automatic backups through the system document picker. The folder can be on your device or supplied by a compatible storage provider. Longwork remembers access to that folder and writes portable backup files there.

Connecting a folder creates an initial backup. Completing a workout queues another, and opening the app again retries a pending backup. Before a restore or local reset, Longwork creates a separate safety backup when an automatic-backup folder is connected.

For routine backups and safety backups separately, Longwork keeps the newest file from each of the latest three days on which that type was saved. This gives a maximum of six valid Longwork files. It removes older matching backups from that folder. It does not remove unrelated files.

If you choose a cloud storage provider, that provider transfers and stores the files under its own terms. Wiskow Tech does not receive the backups or operate a synchronisation service. Turning automatic backups off stops future writes but does not delete existing files.

Android Cloud Backup

Separately from Longwork's optional folder backups, Android may copy app data to your Google account through Android Cloud Backup. This depends on your device and Google backup settings. Google operates that storage; Longwork does not use it to synchronise devices.

Notifications

If you enable training reminders or rest alerts, Longwork asks the operating system to schedule notifications on your device. It does not send them through a remote notification service. You can change reminders in Longwork and notification permission in system settings.

Retention and deletion

Your local record stays on your device until you edit or delete it, erase all local data, or uninstall the app. Resetting local data disconnects Health Connect. If you later restore a backup, that file can restore records it contains.

Exported files, automatic backups and Android Cloud Backup copies can remain after you delete local data or uninstall Longwork. Manage those copies through their folder, storage provider or Google backup settings. Longwork does not delete the original records held in Health Connect.
